Abstract

Why do we have to study vacuum in the mathematical theory of compressible Fluid Dynamics? In this talk, I will discuss the necessity of studying vacuum in both ideal and viscous compressible fluids from the point of view of wellposedness theory. We will discuss some interesting phenomena and survey some of the recent progress in this direction.
