Abstract |
The Andre-Oort conjecture predicts that the Zariski closure of a subset of CM points in a given Shimura variety can be expressed as a finite union of special subvarieties. Klingler, Ullmo, and Yafaev prove the conjecture under the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis. In this talk we explain a generalization of the ergodic arguments in their proof to study special subvarieties in Kuga varieties, namely universal families of abelian varieties lying over Shimura varieties.
